GMC Leader Frowns on Prosecution of 3 Years Jotna’s Executive

The Leader of Moral Congress (GMC) has frowned on government of the Gambia for prosecuting three members of the Operation 3 Years Jotna and the closure of the two radio stations in the Gambia.

Speaking in a press briefing organized by Gambia Moral Congress on Thursday at the party’s headquarter, Ahmed Mai Fatty reiterated his call saying “I repeat my call for the withdrawal of prosecutions against the leadership of 3years Jotna and closure of the radios station for the government to review the decision without any delay.”

He said the government should withdraw the case against Gambians currently standing trial for the alleged disturbances of Operation 3 Years Jotna protest.

“I condemn violence regardless who perpetrate it as violence and lawlessness are twins citing that the government should do better that responding violence with violence,” he alluded.

According to him too many things has happened in this country at the same time, which the tourism sector has been affected while the private sector remains uncertain.

He added further that “it’s clear that the true problems of our nation are much deeper – deeper than just politics.”

According to him people are losing faith not only in government itself but in the ability as citizen to serve as ultimate crucial rulers and sharper of our democracy.
