3 Gambians attends Nigerian Paramount Ruler’s Golden Jubilee

Three Gambians just returned from Nigeria where they attended a week-long 50th Birthday Golden Jubilee celebration of His Royal Highness, King Dr. Appolus Chu Egbere Emere Okori of Eleme Kingdom, the Paramount Ruler of Okoi Eleme River State as he clock 50 years of age in January 15th, 2020.

Speaking to our reporter shortly after their returned, the head of the Gambians delegation to the event, Head chief of Kombo North District, Momodou L.K. Bojang thanked the Nigerian Paramount Rule for the great invitation he sent to them.

According to Chief Bojang, the event was held at the Palace of His Royal Highness in River State thus coincided with the celebration of the Nigeria “Armed Forces Day Remembrance Day”.

“On behalf of my delegation and the Government of The Gambia, we say a big thanks to the Paramount Ruler, Apolus Chu, Egbere Emere Okori, Eleme for his generosity in inviting us to attend his historical celebration River State, Nigeria,” Chief Bojang stated.

Chief Bojang revealed to our reporter that over 2,500 people including Kings, Paramount chiefs and other high profile people across the length and breadth of West Africa graced the event.

The invitation to attend the Nigerian ruler’s birthday celebration he went on was made possible because of the cordial relationship between the Federal Republic of Nigeria and The Gambia.

Chief Momodou Bojang also said the Gambian delegation’s trip to the event was also made possible through the mutual understanding and cooperation between the traditional rulers of the two countries.

The high power Gambian delegation to the great event were the former headchief of Brikama Central District who also doubles as the former deputy Inspector General of Police of the Gambia, Alhajie Dembo Santang Bojang, former Speaker of the National Assembly of The Gambia, Hon. Fatoumata Jahumpa Ceesay and Headchief of Kombo North District, Momodou L.K.Bojang.
