The vice chairwoman of APRC for Bundung has vowed for the return of former president Yahya Jammeh, who was sent into exile in Equatorial Guinea after losing in a 2016 presidential election.

Speaking to Fatou Sonko at APRC Jammeh return protest at Sukuta traffic light on Thursday said: “Yahya Jammeh will surely come and rule the country and the Gambians will enjoy now than the previous time.”

According to her, Jammeh’s arrival is a must and weather the people accept or not, adding that “people allegations against Jammeh are false because Yaya Jammeh did not commit any crime that will deprive him not to come to his motherland.”

She urged UN, AU, and Ecowas to ensure to implement the agreement as soon as possible as she described the current situation as ‘darkness.’

She added: “Yahya Jammeh has done wonders in this country that is why Gambians are yearning for his arrival because he has taken us from the darkness to light.”

Thousands of APRC supporters have staged a protest calling for the return of former president Yahya Jammeh, as the party accused UN, AU, and Ecowas for ignoring their calls.
