Omar Beyai, a man who initiated the name All People’s Party has expressed dissatisfaction over fellow coming up with the name on his political party.

Omar Beyai came up with All People’s Party as his proposed name after his political party following a month long political impasse in 2017.

But All People’s Party was last week registered by Independent Electoral Commission.

In a press release by Mr Beyai said:” the initiator of the All People’s Party on behalf of his executive members regrets to inform the general public that they have been unfortunately beaten to the name by one Alhagie Gumbo Touray.

We expressed our dissapointment to the fact that Mr Touray and his team despite knowing very well that the APP is associated to Mr Beyai went ahead to register it.”

“However, it is important to note that we are powerless to do anything about it.”

According to the release, it is against this backdrop that we believe it is important we inform the general public, most especially those who were anticipating for Mr Beyai to register the APP, that we are not associated with the party anymore. We regret any inconvenience it may cause our dear sympathisers.

“Meanwhile, we want to take this advantage to inform the general public that Omar Beyai and his team after consulting with the membership have now decided to come up with Gambia People’s Part, GPP,” the release added.
