3 Years Jotna: Dembo Jadama withdraw Allegations against IGP, Interior Information Ministers

Karamo Jadama, speaking in a leaked audio disclosed that his movement has agreed to hold a peaceful protest from Sting Corner to Denton Bridge after considering all security threats that criminals and unwanted elements may capitalize on the situation.

In retracting his statement first in audio, he said that allegation against the persons of Mamud Jobe, Inspector General of Police, Ousman Sonko, Minister of Interior, Ebrima Sillah, Minister of Information among others his telephone conversation was recorded and circulated on the social media without his consent and thus apologized for any trouble the audio may cause to the aforementioned personalities.

In a viral audio that goes wild in the public space, Dembo Jadama, highlighted the significant roles the IGP, Interior Minister, Minister of Information among others have played for the movement to be accorded a permit to hold its propose protest slated for the 16th December, 2019.

“I Dembo Jadama am back again to withdraw my statement that I have made against the security chiefs of the country, United Nation and Amnesty International. There were some people who recorded my telephone conversation in which i said some words that are not intentional or meant to cause harm. However, I want to confess that all what I have said so against the security chiefs in that phone conversation are false and I also want to confess that at no point in our negotiation for permit did any of these security chiefs support us to get a permit,” said Karamo Demba disclosed.

He added: “It’s not true that UN is aware of us, it’s not true that human rights organizations are aware of us. I was not aware of the ill intention of those who recorded and circulated my telephone conversation; they did so without my consent but I am admitting that it is my mistake for saying something against the security chiefs.”

Jadama went further to apologized to Mamud Jobe, Inspector General of Police for implicating him in his audio that goes viral, adding that all the allegations he made against security chief as well as state ministers are all false and unfounded.

“All what I have said in the audio is my personal views and I am responsible for all my views contained in the audio, members of the three years Jotna are not aware of anything that I said in it. Those who recorded me did not seek my consent to publish my telephone conversation with them, it is me who committed the mistake for saying something that I should not have said,” Jadama revealed in another audio purportedly made to apologize to the IGP, Interior Minister, and Information Minister among others.

According to him, the people he incriminated in his previous audio are person of high moral character, integrity and patriotic to the cause of building a democratic country anchored on the rule of law, adding that his interaction with these personalities shows him that they are here to ensure that every Gambian is protected fully in the country without any form of affiliation to any group.
