President Warns to Stop “Divide and Rule” system

 By Lamin B. Darboe

A well-known Comedian has in strong words warned President Adama Barrow to immediately stop “Divide and Rule” system in the country, adding that it was all the tribes in the country who voted for him.

“Why now Adama Barrow singled-out to have discussion with 3, 000 Fulas only when all the tribes were the ones who put him into the Presidency?” he asked

Comedian Alhagie Bora, in an exclusive interview allegedly blames President Adama Barrow for fully supporting the current political problem in the country.

He denounced the recent tribe meeting which President Barrow presided over at State House on Saturday.

He explained that, what President Barrow did by organizing meeting with Fulas at State House only, if Lawyer Darboe or Halifa Sallah were the ones who organized it, the duo will receive unaccountable mother insult from all corners of The Gambia.

He said both Halifa Sallah and Lawyer Darboe are in politics for so long but none of them organizes tribal meeting during their political career and even GDC leader who is a Fula never organize any.

Bora single-out Fan Clubs, Youth Movement and Dou Sannoh to be the first who will insult them (Sallah and Darboe) by describing them as the most tribalists’ political leaders in the country.

According to Bora, it was Imam Baba Leigh who first called on all the Fulas including the leader of the GDC, Mama Kanded to rally behind Barrow but Mama Kandeh a politician with his sense outrageously condemned Baba Leigh’s call and he (Kandeh) stated that no-one tribe can’t make someone to become the President.

He explained that Gambians both in and outside the country risk their lives, put their resources together, dies, tortured, seeking blessing from Allah the Almighty and went all kinds of humiliations to make sure Jammeh is out.

Comedian Bora suggested to Barrow that he should serve as an example to all Gambians and he reminded Adama Barrow that it was because of tribalism and Divide and Rule system that uprooted Jammeh from reign of power.

He described President Barrow as No. 1 citizen of The Gambia which was ordained to him by Allah the Almighty, adding that there are some Gambians who had  all the qualities of a good leader but what Allah the Almighty decided no-one can’t stop it whether you like it or not.

Bora said Barrow need to continue with his slogan when he newly became the President: One Gambia, One Nation and One people instead of sidelining with only one tribe for meeting at state House.

He advised President Barrow to be careful while reminding him also that State House is not a Political bureau adding: “I am saying these words between myself and Allah the Almighty.

“What Gambians does in December 2016 was the wiser decision by voting you (Barrow) into power and after that Gambians are paying you,  your family and your workers while you (Barrow) as the President is sitting on the resources of the State,” Bora said.

He  described President Adama Barrow as someone who focuses his concentration on politics now rather than pushing the country for good, adding that even Barrow went up to 5-years and he maintain the same styles of governance system in the country, he will woefully failed.
