The Ombudsman Sensitizes Public Officers & Communities in LRR

In order to create more awareness in the Lower River Region (LRR), the Office of the Ombudsman conducted a series of sensitisation programmes in the region from recently.

Two workshops were held one of which was for public officers which drew participants from public institutions in the region.

The other workshop was organized for community representatives and the participants were drawn from among village heads (Alkalolus), the youth and the elderly.

The workshop for the public officers was opened by the chairman of Mansakonko Area Council, Mr Landing Sanneh.

Mr Sanneh, commended the efforts of the Ombudsman for organising the sensitisation workshop.

He described the Office of the Ombudsman as very important in country democratization process.

Mr Sanneh recognised the work Ombudsman has been doing in the fight against administrative injustice and in the decentralization of its services

He urged participants to share whatever they were going to learn with others who were not present.
