Sarjo Damballeh, a US Based Gambian recently donated medical equipment’s to Department of Social Welfare and the items include wheel chairs, mattress and among others.
The items were presented to the department of Social Welfare for onward distribution to vulnerable people in society by Hon. Momodou Ceesay, alias Morro National Assembly member for Janjangbureh
He explained that the items was send to him by one of his brother based in New York called Sarjo Dambelleh meant for the department of Social Welfare for onward distribution to the vulnerable people.
The donor Sarjo Dambelleh, a native of Janjangbureh Central River Region now based in New York.
According to him, the donor secured the items from a hospital in New York, and is meant to be given free to the vulnerable people in the society.
“This is what prompted us to think of department of Social Welfare been the most suitable institution responsible for people with disability. I challenged the management of the department of Social Welfare to ensure that the items are put into good uses and are giving to the right people and a track record are kept as who benefited from this gesture,” Ceesa
