Councilor Darboe Assured to Cherish his People

Alieu K Darboe, The Ward Councilor for Kembujeh in the Brikama North Constituency has vowed to support his people at any given time and shared the little with them.

Darboe, was speaking recently during presenting sanitary items to   Gunjur Health Centre Maternity ward. He noted that sharing with his fellow villagers is indeed a joy for him as well as his family, friends and love ones saying the donation to the health center is second of this kind following a similar one to  Brikama district hospital maternity ward.

“Yes I was born in Gunjur here, but anything destine by God, must be taken in good faith as he knows the best reason I move from Gunjur to Brikama under the care of my Forster father at tender age, ” he said.

He added: “Both Gunjur and Brikama are my homes so donating to them is one of a joyous moment in my life even if I should die today, a legacy has been made in which I would always be remembered he charged.”

As a local representative of the people, one of my functions is to promote grass root development, and supporting these two health facilities is indeed timely and commendable.

Fatoumata Sumbundu, a registered nurse, deputising for the Officer In Charge commended Darboe for his humanitarian gesture and support highlighting that the maternity is in urgent need of the items and are delivered on time as it would go a long way in helping them in their work as well as promoting effective delivery services to the community.

Hatab Jobe chairman, Gunjur Development Association described the gesture as laudable and outstanding as the items donated are with high quality. “My brother’s gesture has shown to all that he is a type of person who really deserves to be in this position,” he said.

Omar Darboe, a member of the foundation and also a citizen of Gunjur, Momodou S Jalloq from Sinchu both echoed similar sentiments.

It could be recalled that.   Alieu K Darboe Charity Foundation under the stewardship of Councilor Darboe has raised funds in honour of his birth day held on the 7th of March 2019 aimed at supporting his people.

The donated items include soaps, gloves, omo, bleaches, towels, wipers, hard and soft brooms.
