Bundung Comium Kaffo, Six Junction Ward Embark on Cleansing Exercise

Bundung Comium Kaffo (BCK) and Bundung Six Junction Ward Development Committee (BSJWDC) in partnership with Bundung Red Cross Link, Concern Gambia Associate (CoGA), Bundung Association for Community Development (BACD) and Bundung Contestant Councilors Association (BCCA) over the weekend embarked on a day-long cleansing exercise.

Speaking to our reporter at the site of the exercise, Vice President, Bundung Contestant Councilors Association who doubles as Program Officer, Bundung Six Junction Ward Development Committee, Alhagie Abubacarr Sillah commended all those who participated in the exercise.

“My special thanks go to the security personnel at Bundung Police Station, Bundung Garage Car Park drivers and other partners who contributed to the success of the cleansing exercise,” Sillah said.

He said the  cleansing exercise is part of their programs thus the main reason they embarked on cleansing exercise at Bundung Police Station, Bundung Car Park and Bundung Magistrate Court premises.

Amie Manneh , Secretary General, Bundung Comium Kaffo (BCK), said: “Cleansing exercise is part of our Kaffo’s aims and objectives and since our formation we carried out many development programs and activities within Bundung.”

According to her, their Kaffo is apolitical adding that they formed their Kaffo in order to enlighten each other about oneness, maintain clean environment for better hygiene.

“Let me informed you that this is not the first time our Kaffo is embarking on cleansing exercise, we have been doing it for the past years and we will continue to do it in order to fight malaria and other health hazard within our communities,” Madam Manneh stated.

Sulayman Jammeh , Councilor Bundung Six Junction Ward, has this to said: “As far as my ambitions are concern, I have no boundary when it comes to the development of The Gambia.”

Councilor Jammeh expressed his personal thanks to Bundung Red Cross Link, CoGA, Bundung Association for Community Development and other individuals for answering to their calls without hesitation.

Jammeh appealed to all Gambians irrespective of their political, religious and geographical affiliation to put aside party politics as at now and ask themselves “what they can do for their country, not what their country can do for them”.

Essa Jarjusey , Program Officer at Concern Gambia Associate (CoGA), described the exercise as timely, while stressing that, if people clean their environment daily, they will avert health implicated problems within their societies in which they are living.

He explained that their association was formed to partake in anything that would be of national interest, noting that Gambia belongs to all Gambians thus contributing to national building is everybody’s business.
