URR Bridge and Road Construction Works in Progress

The chief of Fulladou East of Upper River Region has commended President Adama Barrow and coalition government for contributing to socio economic development of Basse and Upper River Region.

The length of bridge linking Basse to Wuli is 250m long and Fatoto to Passama is 170m long.

Krubally said the construction of bridge will bring to an end to suffering of peoples, business community and health care service providers and also enhancing service delivery and boost socio economic development.

He noted that the intervention of government on construction of Basse to Fatoto road, college campus and bridge are historic in the development aspiration of URR.

He also said  the   construction of college campus in Basse  demonstrate government commitment in decentralization higher education, noting that it contribute in improving higher education and human resource development at rural setting.

He called for the construction of Basse, Manneh Kunda to Gambisara feeder road and also Sabi to Fass Bajong road among others.

Mama Sowe and Mamadou Camara boat drivers plying Basse to Wuli expressed delight on the ongoing bridge construction.

The boat drivers expressed the need for government to consider compensating them, noting that some of them have been operating over 30 years and after the completion of the bridge the will be jobless.

 

Makang Danjo of Nyakoi Medina said the completion of bridge would connect Basse and Wuli and by extension boost trade, health and economic activities. He hailed President Adama Barrow for the foresight in fulfilling his campaign promises.
