NYC to Host 3rd Pan African Youth Conference

National Youth Council (NYC) is set to host the 3rd Pan African Youth conference on African unity and development that will include the Annual general assembly meeting of the African Youth commission (#AYCGA 2019) in The Gambia on 23-26 March, 2019.

Lamin Darboe, Executive director at the NYC said the national organising committee calls this Press briefing to inform the general public about the 3rd Pan African Youth conference on African unity and development that will include the Annual general assembly meeting of the African Youth commission (#AYCGA 2019).

Mr. Darboe added that this conference is one of the biggest youth convergence in the continent and the theme is Future is now: Youth are not too young to lead.

Dembo Kambi, chairman of the NYC said national youth council is ready to host this international youth forum since last year when the council signs a Memaradoum of understanding between the African Youth commission acting Executive chairperson   during his visit in the Gambia.Mr. Kambi said the National Youth council has a Political support from the Gambian government through the ministry of youth Sports to see the successful of the event.

Kambi urges all the Gambian youth to come on board and give their support to the national youth council in other to make event successful because we all know that Gambian youth are doing very well if you come to the youth participation at the international forum.

Kawsu Sillah, Executive Secretary to the organizing committee  has said that this conference start it first edition in the republic of Euthopia in January 2017 and the second edition in Harary in Zimbabwe last year and as a result of that the Gambia National Youth council deem it necessary to host the third edition as Nation.

According to him, 53 member countries will be partake in this international youth forum to discuss the issues that are affecting the youth in Sub- region and find a possible solution to those problems in Africa has a young people.
