Kwinella Health facility boosted with drugs & clinical accessories.

Health care is conventionally regarded as an important determinant in promoting the general physical and mental health and well-being of people, and is the maintenance or improvement of health delivery through prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disease, illness, injury, and other physical and mental impairments in human beings.

In light of the above, we hope and systematically plan by providing personal and population-based preventive, curative and rehabilitative health care service delivery within the district of Kiang Central, LRR.

These were the remarks recently made by Baboucarr Sarr, Officer In Charge at Kwinella Health facility during the official handing over of assorted amount of medicines and equipment donated by a humanitarian foundation from Holland called Foundatin Faabandi at massive presentation ceremony at Kwinella health Center, LRR.

The donated items includes mobility windows, baby cloths, computer laptops, sanitary pads, dressing materials, syringes, laboratory and medical testing devices, drugs including pain killers and oral rehydration salt, etc.

In presenting the items to the district health facility`s OIC, Dick and Marja Hevel the foundation`s Financial controller and CEO respectively thanked the management of the health facility for professionally managing and utilizing the last donated items to them, and further reaffirmed that the foundation will continue collaborating with the local institution with the aim of improving its status.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

According to Dick Hevel, their foundation has been assisting the facility for the past couple of years but with no good results, but with the new administration in place, he reiterated their continues commitment and readiness in lifting the standard of the facility that renders services to over sixteen local communities within the district environment of Kiang Central.

 

Dick revealed that Foundatin Faabandi was introduced to the health facility by their longtime Gambian friend Jung July Sanyang over five years ago, and has since then been visiting and supporting the facility. “With the new management in place at the facility, the foundation will now continue offering their humanitarian aid they used to offer.

 

 

 

Adding on, Dick Hevel posited that health is usually understood as an individual right and a right pertaining to the entire community and in many countries, health installations are owned and run by the government. In most cases health is financed by revenue generated mainly from taxes, which is why public health services are provided at low cost or free of charge and depend on the economic capacity of the governments. According to him, it was towards this gesture that their foundation is committed in giving back to the entire district through the health Centre.

 

“As we are aware of the short comings related to maternal health especially women during pregnancy and childbirth, the Foundation is committed to improve those conditions and to reduce maternal morbidity and mortality in other cases at the local health facility.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

In receiving the donated items, the OIC of the health facility Baboucarr Sarr thanked the donors for the humanitarian gesture that will go a long way in addressing series of health challenges they are facing. He further revealed that the health facilities plays and will continue to play a very significant role in mitigating immerging health and clinical problems of the surrounding communities in the district.

 

“A healthy nation he said is a wealthy nation. Efficient and sustainable health care delivery is important to the society because people get ill, accidents and emergencies do arise and the facility is needed to diagnose, treat and manage the different types of ailments and diseases. Many of people’s aspirations and desires cannot be met without longer, healthier, happy lives.” Sarr pointed out.
