Kairo Survivor-LED Crisis Society (KSLCS) over the weekend held a sensitization and awareness campaign in Tujereng aimed to discourage illegal migration.
The sensitization forum attracted number of youths, leaders from Tujereng and Tanji, and their surrounding communities.
Ebrima Jawneh, president of KSLCS assured his organization commitment to engage the youths of the country and put an end to the perilous journey to Europe.
“Our organization is strongly convinced that there is a dire need for meaningful and effective guidance and counseling to prevent and reduce conflict and other crisis situations in this country,” he said.
He added: “considering the level and growing rates of crisis globally, ranging from families, communities, organizations and nations.”
According to him, the first targeted areas of operation are KSMD and WCR and from there his organization plans to extend sensitization to the rest all regions of the country.
“With support and attention from government , international donors, international and local philanthropists together we can make The Gambia and the rest of our planet a conducive place for all regardless of nationality, gender, ethnicity and religion”, Jawneh pointed out .
“I seize this opportunity to thank President Adama Barrow for accepting a courtesy from our organization in 2018 and Country Director of Go for Africa Mr. Alagie Saho for donating us a very strong car.”
He assured that his organization will continue to sensitize the youths on the danger of illegal migration and other related issues affecting the youths.
He commended the executive members of Kairo Survivor for their firm commitment in ensuring that society reached at this stage of the launching.
