My Relationship with VP is Normal- Barrow

President Adama Barrow, has said that his relation with his Vice President Ousainou Darboe is normal amid wide spread of speculations that they have strain relations.

Upon arrival from Egypt yesterday where he attended 3rd Africa Business Forum 2018,   in the Egyptian city of Sheik Al-Sham when asked by journalist about their relationship he responded that: “Our relationship is very normal, I think the question is about politics, as far as I am concerned, I am an independent candidate I don’t belong to any party, so I will not comment on party politics”.

He added that the most important thing is, he is elected to work for The Gambia to be developed and moves the Gambia forward.

“This is the reason for today, my focus is to go to Basse and launch the roads and bridges and on 21st December, 2018; I would open the bridges in Farafenni and we are working on a launching in Banjul”. He told the awaiting journalists upon arrival. “This is what I am employed for, by Gambians and that is what I am doing right now,”

He stressed for unity, togetherness in order to move the country forward, adding that The Gambia is bigger than anybody.

Last week, Ousainou Darboe, the re-elected United Democratic Party (UDP) Secretary General and party leader has advised President Adama Barrow to come back to the UDP after the end of his tenure of office.

UDP Leader said that he is optimistic that at the end of President Barrow’s mandate he will resign and come back to his home which he said is UDP.

He was addressing thousands of party supporters, well-wishers and sympathizers at a massive political rally held at the Buffer Zone in Talinding after the end of the party’s three day congress on Sunday.

“Usually when wrestling is organised by villagers they identify their wrestler and at the end of the wrestling, the wrestler usually returned to his home. So if Barrow finishes his term, I am sure he will come back to his home which is the UDP,” the re-elected UDP Secretary General outlined.
