NEDI Inaugurates New Board Members

The National Enterprise Development Initiative [NEDI] has inaugurated new board members to oversee functions of the management for the next three years.

In his inaugural remarks at the Independent Stadium, the minister of youth and sports Hadrammeh Sidibeh described the inauguration as milestone to the efforts of the ministry to developing of youth in the country.

“My ministry has put mechanism in place and follows the necessary protocols to ensure the NEDI’s board is appointed accordingly. The board members were carefully selected therefore, I have no doubt in the members appointed and  they  will serve the institution to expectation considering their expertise,” he said.

According to him, his ministry has a strategy vision of national development plan on area like, youth productive engagement

The youth minister said NEDI is fundamental in creation of enterprise and employment opportunities for the youth, assuring his ministry’s continues support to NEDI.

He added: “The board will provide the leadership necessary for NEDI to harness its diverse creativity and potential to further to contribute in the socio economic development of The Gambia to ensure self-reliance to youth and women to be drivers of our economic.”

.Alhagie Sillah Conateh, chairman of the new board said: “I realized that the institution has challenges that are currently confronting the institution; however, it is our hope that the board and ministry will address the challenges.”
