Gambian youngsters Ansumana Samura and Omar Tamba made impressive competitive debuts for Sudanese champions Al Hilal Omdurman as the club defeated KVZ FC 4-0 in the CECAFA Kagame Cup.
The two players delivered composed performances in their first official appearances for the Sudanese side, contributing to Al Hilal’s dominant display in the regional club tournament.
Samura marked his debut with a goal, scoring Al Hilal’s third in the 80th minute after producing a confident performance. The former Gambino Stars Academy player demonstrated his attacking qualities with a well-taken finish.
Tamba also made a positive impression, contributing with disciplined play, intelligent movement and a strong work rate as Al Hilal maintained control throughout the match.
The victory marks a promising start for both Gambian players as they begin their careers with one of East and Central Africa’s most successful football clubs.
Their performances are expected to strengthen their chances of securing regular places in the Al Hilal squad ahead of the new season.
