Gambian athletes are preparing to compete in judo and boxing at the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games, scheduled to take place in Senegal, as they seek to showcase their talents on the international stage.
The Gambian contingent is expected to participate in the two combat sports, with judo scheduled for 1 to 3 November and boxing from 7 to 12 November.
Both competitions will be held at the Dakar Expo Centre, where young athletes from across the world will compete in the multisport event.
The Games will provide Gambian athletes with an opportunity to gain international experience, measure their abilities against emerging talents from other countries and represent their nation in high-level competition.
The participation of Team Gambia is also expected to highlight the country’s commitment to youth development through sport and provide a platform for its young athletes to demonstrate their skills and competitive potential.
As preparations continue, attention will focus on the Gambian representatives as they seek to deliver strong performances at the Games.
