Gambian athletics prospect Mustapha E. Jadama is set to represent The Gambia in the men’s 400 metres at the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games, scheduled for 31 October to 13 November 2026 in Senegal.
Jadama has already made his mark on the regional athletics circuit. At the 2026 CAA U18-U20 Region II Championships in Dakar, the young sprinter clocked 48.15 seconds in the U18 men’s 400m final to win a bronze medal.
His performance highlighted his potential and marked another step in his development as a competitive sprinter.
The upcoming Youth Olympic Games will provide Jadama with an opportunity to compete on the international stage against some of the world’s leading young athletes.
For the Gambian athlete, the competition will also be an opportunity to represent his country and showcase the progress of athletics in The Gambia.
His participation follows a period of preparation and competition in which he has continued to develop his speed and race experience.
Jadama will now return to Dakar, where he will carry The Gambia’s flag in the men’s 400m competition as he seeks to build on his regional success and make an impact at the Youth Olympic Games.
