TMT Football Club has appointed Gambian coach Omar Cham as the permanent head coach of its senior men’s team ahead of the 2026/27 domestic football season, which is scheduled to begin in November.
The club said Cham will take charge of the team on a permanent basis as it prepares for the new league campaign.
The Sukuta-born tactician joins TMT with extensive coaching experience, having guided Gambia Dutch Lions from the Gambia Football Federation (GFF) Second Division to the First Division before helping the club retain its top-flight status over the past two seasons.
Cham has also served with The Gambia Women’s National Team and broadened his coaching experience through a professional stint in Germany.
TMT said the new coach is recognised for his discipline, professionalism and commitment to youth development, qualities the club believes will strengthen its efforts to build a competitive squad while developing young players.
The club added that the early appointment would provide sufficient time for Cham to assess the current squad, reinforce the technical team and prepare the players for the forthcoming season.
The appointment was formalised during a signing ceremony attended by the club’s Vice President, Lamin Bojang, executive committee members and former interim head coach Ousman Sawaneh, who has been appointed assistant coach.
Speaking at the ceremony, Bojang expressed confidence in Cham’s ability to lead the team and pledged the club’s full support as he begins his new role.
