Gambian midfielder Modou Lamin Marong is close to completing a permanent transfer from Slovak club STK Šamorín to Hungarian side ETO FC Győr, with only the approval of his work permit remaining before the move is finalized.
The transfer has been agreed by all parties, paving the way for the Gambian international to join the Hungarian club ahead of the new season.
According to sources close to the negotiations, the work permit is the only outstanding requirement before the deal becomes official.
Once the permit is approved, Marong is expected to travel to Hungary with his agent, Cherno Samba, to complete the remaining formalities and sign the necessary documents.
Marong has impressed during his time with STK Šamorín, where his performances attracted interest from ETO FC Győr.
The move is expected to provide the Gambian midfielder with an opportunity to continue his development at a higher level of European football as he prepares for the forthcoming domestic campaign.
