Jam City, Pipeline FC and ASM Athletic recorded victories on Wednesday to strengthen their bids for promotion to the Gambia Football Federation (GFF) Second Division in the Men’s Promotion Playoffs.
Jam City came from behind to defeat Essau United 4-1 at the OSFF Ground.
Essau United took an early lead through Modou Manneh in the third minute, but Muhammad L. Marong equalised in the 15th minute before Ousman Badjie put Jam City ahead just before the break.
Bubacar Jallow extended the lead in first-half stoppage time, while Muhammad Banora completed the scoring with a goal in the 85th minute.
At the Bakau Mini Stadium, Pipeline FC defeated Sporting Real 2-0 to remain firmly in contention for promotion to the second tier.
In another playoff fixture played at Basori, ASM Athletic edged Sabi FC 2-1 to enhance their chances of securing promotion.
The victories leave Jam City, Pipeline FC and ASM Athletic well placed as the race for places in the GFF Second Division continues.
