TMT FC have qualified for the final of the Gambia Football Federation (GFF) Division One Promotion Playoffs after defeating Sibanor United 2-0 in a semifinal encounter played at the Yundum Football Field on Saturday.
The match remained tightly contested in the first half, with both teams cancelling each other out as they went into the break goalless.
TMT FC returned from the interval with renewed determination and quickly took control of proceedings. Yankuba Mass Ceesay opened the scoring just two minutes after the restart, finding the back of the net in the 47th minute to give his side the lead.
The goal boosted TMT FC’s confidence as they intensified pressure on Sibanor United, who struggled to contain their opponents’ attacking momentum.
Six minutes later, Kalipha Sanneh doubled the advantage for TMT FC with a well-executed finish in the 53rd minute, placing his team in a commanding position.
Sibanor United pushed forward in search of a comeback but TMT FC remained organised and disciplined at the back, effectively managing the remainder of the game to secure a 2-0 victory.
The win sees TMT FC advance to the final, where they will battle for promotion to the GFF First Division.
