Gambian international Abdoulie Ceesay scored a first-half hat-trick on Saturday as FC St. Pauli defeated SV Babelsberg 03 4-1 in a pre-season friendly ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.
The 22-year-old forward produced a remarkable attacking display, opening the scoring in the sixth minute before adding his second goal in the 21st minute.
Ceesay completed his perfect first-half hat-trick seven minutes later, scoring again in the 28th minute to give St. Pauli a commanding lead before the break.
His clinical finishing helped the Bundesliga side control the match and secure a comfortable victory as preparations for the new season continue.
The performance comes at a crucial stage for Ceesay, who is aiming to establish himself as a regular member of St. Pauli’s first-team squad after making limited Bundesliga appearances last season.
The Gambian forward’s movement, composure in front of goal and ability to take scoring opportunities have strengthened his case for increased involvement as the club prepares for the new campaign.
Ceesay’s form will also provide encouragement for Gambian football supporters, with hopes that the striker can maintain his momentum during the competitive season and make a greater impact for both club and country.
