North Star Ladies came from behind to defeat Young Icons 2-1 and win the 2025-26 North Bank Regional Football Association (NBRFA) Women’s Third Division Regional title in the final played on Saturday.
Young Icons took the lead just before half-time through Jojo Kanyi after making the stronger start to the match.
North Star Ladies responded positively after the interval, with Adama Keita scoring the equaliser early in the second half to bring her side back into contention.
The comeback was completed in the 73rd minute when Gnima Thior scored from close range to put North Star Ladies ahead for the first time in the match.
Young Icons pushed for a late equaliser, but North Star Ladies defended resolutely to preserve their lead and secure the regional championship.
The victory completed an impressive campaign for North Star Ladies, who showed resilience and determination to claim the 2025-26 NBRFA Women’s Third Division Regional title.
