Samger Football Club have parted ways with head coach Amat Cham by mutual consent following the club’s relegation from the Gambia Football Federation (GFF) First Division League, marking the end of a difficult 2025/26 season.
The decision follows Samger’s failure to retain their top-flight status after finishing second from bottom of the league table with 32 points from 30 matches, sealing their drop to the GFF Second Division.
Both parties agreed to terminate the contract amicably as the club prepares to restructure ahead of the new season.
Amat Cham departs after a challenging campaign in which Samger struggled for consistency and were unable to secure the results needed to avoid relegation.
The club is now expected to begin the search for a new head coach to lead its rebuilding process and mount a push for immediate promotion back to the First Division in the 2026/27 season.
