Demba Sonko Bojang has been elected president of the Brikama Sports Committee after defeating Lamin Njie in the committee’s presidential election.
Bojang secured 43 votes against Njie’s 22 to win the election and assume the leadership of the committee.
His election ushers in a new leadership for the Brikama Sports Committee, which is responsible for coordinating and promoting sporting activities in the municipality.
Bojang is expected to work with sports clubs, athletes, coaches and other stakeholders to strengthen sports development programmes and enhance sporting activities in Brikama.
The election results reflected the confidence of delegates in Bojang’s leadership as he begins his tenure as president of the committee.
