Fresh political exchanges have emerged between supporters of Kanifing Mayor Talib Ahmed Bensouda and Momodou Sabally following the recent UNITE rally held at the Buffer Zone.
The latest remarks came from UMC National Campaign Manager MC Cham Jr, who defended Bensouda against criticisms made by Sabally after the event, which attracted hundreds of supporters.
Cham described the rally as evidence of growing public interest in what he called a “new political direction” ahead of the 2026 presidential election, while dismissing negative commentary surrounding the gathering.
According to him, the increasing attention being given to Bensouda reflects his expanding political influence, particularly among young voters.
The UMC official also rejected claims linking the Kanifing mayor to divisions within the opposition UDP, insisting that Bensouda remains focused on governance and national development.
He further maintained that political attacks and criticism would not weaken public demand for change as the country approaches another election cycle.
The exchange is the latest sign of growing political debate and positioning among figures expected to shape discussions ahead of the 2026 presidential polls.
