Week 17 of the GFF Women’s Second Division League produced a tightly contested round of fixtures as the race for the title became even more competitive following leaders Future Bi’s draw against Jeshwang United.
League leaders Future Bi were held to a goalless draw by Jeshwang United at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium, a result that reduced their lead at the top to just one point.
The result opened the door for their closest challengers, with both The Gambia Armed Forces and Kintehs securing important victories to remain firmly in the title race.
At the Live Your Dreams Academy Field in Basori, The Gambia Armed Forces defeated Jung Mama 2–0. Isatou Sanyang opened the scoring with a well-taken free kick, before Abisseh Jarju converted from the penalty spot to secure all three points.
Kintehs also kept their title hopes alive with a hard-fought 2–1 win over Sallahs at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium. Jainaba Jallow scored twice for Kintehs, while Abie Manneh netted a consolation goal for Sallahs.
Elsewhere, Darboes boosted their survival chances with a narrow 1–0 win over Mansa Wally at the Bakau Mini Stadium. Jainaba Trawally scored the decisive goal, helping her side move further away from the relegation zone.
With the latest results, Future Bi remain top of the table but are now level on 35 points with both Kintehs and The Gambia Armed Forces, setting up a closely contested finish to the season.
