BST Galaxy Secretary General Amadou L.S Jaiteh has announced his intention to contest for the presidency of the Gambia Football Federation (Gambia Football Federation), outlining a programme focused on grassroots football development.
Jaiteh said his vision is centered on strengthening grassroots structures as the foundation of football development in The Gambia, with emphasis on youth participation and long-term sustainability of the game.
He proposed the organisation of nationwide grassroots competitions and stronger collaboration with schools to support structured football programmes. He also called for the establishment of consistent regional and national youth leagues to create development pathways for young players.
On technical development, Jaiteh highlighted the need for improved talent identification systems and the introduction of structured training programmes for coaches. He further proposed standardised coaching certification to enhance the quality of football education across the country.
He also stressed player welfare, including mandatory safeguarding measures and first aid training for coaches and officials to improve safety standards in the sport.
In addition, Jaiteh outlined plans for comprehensive player development frameworks covering technical, tactical, physical and mental aspects of the game, supported by monitoring systems. He also pledged to promote inclusivity through expanded disability football programmes and equal access to opportunities.
