Bakau Newtown defeated Bakau Komani 2–1 in a Matchday Six fixture of the KM Regional Football Association Third Division on Sunday.
The Bakau derby was played at a high tempo, with both sides showing commitment and competitive intent from the start. Bakau Newtown took the lead in the match through an attacking display that produced two goals, giving them a 2–0 advantage.
Bakau Komani responded with improved pressure and managed to score once to reduce the deficit to 2–1. The goal set up a tighter contest in the later stages of the game as Komani pushed forward in search of an equaliser.
Bakau Newtown, however, maintained their defensive organisation and saw out the match to secure all three points.
The result gives Bakau Newtown added momentum in the KM Regional Football Association Third Division standings, while Bakau Komani will look to recover in their next fixture.
