The second phase of the Gambia Football Federation (GFF)/FIFA Talent Development Scheme (TDS) nationwide tour continued on Friday in Nyakoi Kerewan, where young footballers showcased their skills on a newly inaugurated grass pitch.

The event, part of a national talent identification programme, attracted children from across the Upper River Region (URR) who gathered to demonstrate their abilities in front of scouts and technical officials.

Coaches and talent scouts observed the players closely, assessing their technical skills, movement and overall potential for possible integration into the GFF/FIFA Talent Academy.

The young prospects displayed a range of football abilities, including ball control, passing accuracy and tactical awareness, as the sessions highlighted emerging talent at grassroots level.

Officials said the initiative aims to strengthen the pipeline for future national team players by providing structured opportunities for talent identification and development across the country.

The TDS tour is expected to continue in other regions as part of ongoing efforts to expand access to football development programmes nationwide.
