Upper River Region Combined Security Team Exits Late Armidou Bah Noran Tournament

The Upper River Region (URR) Combined Security Team was eliminated from the Late Armidou Bah Noran Memorial Tournament on Saturday following a 2–0 quarter-final defeat to Kansala FC at the Basse High-Level Football Field.

Coached by Mamadi Saidy, the team comprises personnel from the Gambia Police Force (GPF), the Gambia Armed Forces (GAF), and other sister security services. The squad demonstrated strong discipline and teamwork throughout the competition.

Kansala FC secured their victory with two first-half goals by Ismaila John and Sainey Camara, taking a 2–0 lead at halftime. Despite increased possession and attacking pressure in the second half, the URR Combined Security Team was unable to convert scoring opportunities, allowing Kansala FC to advance to the semi-finals.

Coach Saidy described the result as disappointing but stressed the broader value of participation. “The tournament provides an important platform for inter-service cooperation, camaraderie, and community engagement beyond our operational duties,” he said.
