The National Democratic Party (NDP), led by former National People’s Party youth leader Kebba Madi Bojang, has reacted to the increment in registration of political parties in the country to D2,000,000.00
The National Assembly has passed a motion raising political party registration fees from D1,000.000.00 to D2,000,000.00 on Tuesday.
Kebba Madi Bojang said in a statement that while this decision places a heavy financial burden on aspiring political parties, the National Democratic Party wishes to assure its supporters and the Gambian people that this will not deter them.
“Our resolve is firm. The NDP was founded on the principles of justice, equality, and national development, and no amount of obstacles will silence the voice of the people we represent,” Mr. Bojang stated.
He calls on party members, sympathisers, and well-wishers at home and abroad to remain steadfast, adding that together, through unity and contribution, the NDP will overcome this challenge and successfully register as a political party.
“The NDP is more than a party. It is a movement for hope, progress, and a brighter Gambia. Yes, the fee is D2 million. But our determination is priceless,” he stressed
