The Gambia Police Force on Thursday, 14th August 2025, received the Director General of the Drug Law Enforcement Agency, The Gambia (DLEAG), Mr. Demba Ceesay, at the Police Command in Banjul as part of his nationwide tour.
The delegation was received by Commissioner of Police (CP) Amie Nyassi of the Banjul Region. The visit aimed to reinforce the longstanding collaboration between the Police and DLEAG in tackling crime and related offences.
Speaking during the visit, Director of Border Operations, Modou Jobe, commended the Police for their consistent support to DLEAG and other sister security institutions. He described the partnership as a strong demonstration of unity and shared commitment in safeguarding the nation.
For his part, Director General Ceesay emphasized that the cordial relationship between the two agencies is crucial in addressing crime and drug-related offences, which he says are often closely linked. He noted that enhanced cooperation will contribute significantly to peace and security across the country.
Representing the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Assistant Inspector General of Police for Administration, Mr. Ebrima Bah, assured DLEAG of the Police’s continued support. He stressed that while their mandates differ, both institutions share the same national security objectives. This, he added, would further strengthen intelligence sharing and improve collective efforts in crime prevention.
