Court Orders Remand of Man At Mile II for Alleged Possession of Over 4kg of Marijuana

The Brikama Magistrates’ Court, presided over by magistrate I.O Njie, has ordered the remand in custody of a certain Modou Lamin Sambou, at Mile II for alleged possession of 4kg and 300g of marijuana.

According to court records, Modou Lamin Sambou on or about 4 November 2024, at Bakary Sambouya village in the West Coast Region, had in his possession 4kg and 300g of Cannabis Sativa, a prohibited drug, thereby committed an offence.

He denied the charges and an order was consequently issued by the presiding magistrate for his remand at Mile II until the date of the hearing into the case.

S. Camara represented DLEAG in the case while the accused had no legal representation.

The case resumes on 18 November 2024, at 12:30pm for the testimony of PW1.
