Week 11 of the GFF-APS Wallet Men’s Second Division League got underway on Saturday, with RS Tallinding recording a 3-0 victory over AJ Soccer at the Box Bar Mini Stadium in Brikama.
Young forward Foday Sawaneh inspired the Buffer Zone Boys, scoring a brace to take his season tally to five goals, all netted in the last three matches. Ousman Gibba had given RS Tallinding the lead at halftime before Sawaneh added two more goals in the second half to secure the win, marking the team’s third consecutive victory.
Elsewhere, Wagadu FC fought back to earn a 1-1 draw against Serrekunda FC at the Live Your Dreams Academy Field in Basori. After a goalless first half, Serrekunda FC took the lead in the 70th minute when Alfusainey Badjie converted a penalty following a foul on Yusupha Jaiteh by Muhammed Kanteh. Wagadu captain Demba Batchilly, returning from injury as a second-half substitute, scored a powerful low strike in the 81st minute to level the match.
In Bakau, newcomers North Star held Wallidan FC to a goalless draw at the Bakau Mini Stadium.
The league resumes on Sunday with Marimoo Pakfood FC hosting Baalor Sarr in Bakau. Menmar Banjul United will face Gambia Armed Forces at the Ousman Saho Football Field, while Unique Global take on league leaders Colley Stars FC at the Live Your Dreams Academy Field in Basori.
Other fixtures include Serrekunda United versus Elite United FC at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium, and Suwo Kono traveling to Brikama to face Sibanor United FC at the Box Bar Mini Stadium.
