Week 10 of the GFF-APS Wallet Men’s Second Division League produced thrilling encounters across various venues, highlighted by a remarkable comeback victory and key results that continue to shape the promotion race.
The standout fixture took place at the Kerr Jatta Football Field in the North Bank Region, where Unique Global became the first team this season to defeat North Star on home soil, securing a dramatic 3-2 victory.
North Star started strongly, taking the lead in the sixth minute through Alieu Demba before Folomo Beavogui doubled the advantage from the penalty spot shortly before halftime following a handball by Ibrahima Solo Ceesay.
However, the introduction of substitute Abdoulie Bundu proved decisive. Bundu inspired a second-half turnaround, scoring three goals to complete a stunning comeback. He reduced the deficit in the 60th minute, equalised four minutes later, and converted a late penalty in the 86th minute to seal the historic win for Unique Global.
At the Soma Mini Stadium, AJ Soccer recorded a crucial 2-0 victory over visiting Marimoo Pakfood FC. After a goalless first half, Abubacarr Sanneh’s clinical brace in the second period secured all three points and strengthened AJ Soccer’s position in the standings.
Elsewhere, several matches ended in draws as teams battled for vital points. At the Box Bar Mini Stadium in Brikama, Gambia Armed Forces (GAF) and Wallidan FC shared the spoils in a 1-1 encounter. Abdoulie Joof gave GAF the lead in the 43rd minute, but John Gomez equalised for Wallidan in the 80th minute.
