English League One side Stockport County have signed Gambian international forward Adama Sidibeh from Scottish Championship club St Johnstone on a two-and-a-half-year contract.

The 27-year-old joined the Edgeley Park outfit for an undisclosed fee, marking another significant step in a rapid rise that has seen him progress from non-league football to the international stage in just three years.

Sidibeh began his career in The Gambia, playing for Marimoo and Gambia Ports Authority, before relocating to England in 2022 to reunite with his family. He later featured for Cheadle Heath Nomads, where his prolific scoring attracted attention.

He moved to Scotland in 2023, becoming a key figure for St Johnstone during his two seasons at McDiarmid Park. Despite the club’s relegation from the Scottish Premiership last season, Sidibeh remained influential, scoring five important goals in the latter half of the campaign.

This season, he has led the line for St Johnstone in the Championship, scoring seven goals and providing six assists in all competitions, helping the club sit at the top of the table.

In a statement, Stockport County praised Sidibeh’s development, highlighting his pace, aerial ability, and improved all-around game.

Sidibeh’s club performances have also earned him a regular place in the Gambia national team. He made his debut for the Scorpions in a World Cup qualifier against Seychelles, scoring after coming off the bench in a 5–1 victory.

He has since earned nine caps, scoring seven goals, including successive braces against Gabon and Seychelles during the October international window.
