The GFF Division One League kicked off on Tuesday with Fortune FC and Samger FC recording narrow victories, while BST Galaxy and Bombada FC settled for a 1-1 draw in Brikama.

At the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium, Fortune FC edged Steve Biko 2-1, thanks to goals from Muhammed Jallow in the 36th minute and Salifu Colley, who converted from the penalty spot six minutes after the restart.

Steve Biko showed attacking intent throughout the encounter, creating several scoring chances, but lacked precision in front of the goal. Their persistence paid off in the 77th minute when Abdoulie Manneh headed home from a well-delivered cross. However, Fortune FC remained composed in the closing stages to secure all three points.

Meanwhile, at the Late Ousman Saho Stadium in Old Yundum, Division One returnees Samger FC claimed a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Hawks FC. Amadou Camara scored the decisive goal of the match.

In Brikama, Bombada FC were held to a 1-1 draw by BST Galaxy at the Boxba Mini Stadium. Bombada took an early lead in the seventh minute after an own goal by Ousman Sanneh. BST Galaxy responded five minutes into the second half, with Sherrif Bah netting the equaliser to earn a share of the spoils for both sides.

The results marked an eventful start to the new Division One League season.
