The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) has announced that the national U-17 men’s team, under the leadership of Head Coach Yahya Manneh, has entered the second phase of its preparations for the upcoming WAFU-A U-17 Championship. Training resumed on Wednesday at the Ousman Saho Football Field in Old Yundum.
According to the GFF, this phase of training is focused on screening players who were recently scouted during the Federation’s nationwide talent identification tour.
“These newly scouted players will be integrated with the existing squad that participated in the last U-17 Africa Cup of Nations, provided they remain eligible for the tournament,” the GFF stated.
The Federation added that the team will continue training throughout the week at the Ousman Saho Field, as preparations intensify for next month’s WAFU-A U-17 AFCON Qualifiers, set to be hosted in Mali.
