GNOC President Visits Gambian Athletes at African School Games

Bai Dodou Jallow, President of the Gambia National Olympic Committee (GNOC), has visited the Gambian delegation currently participating in the ongoing ANOCA African School Games in Annaba, Algeria.

During the visit to the athletes’ village, Mr Jallow encouraged the young athletes to stay focused and committed to representing the country with pride.

“We are here to represent more than two million people. This is a huge responsibility that we must embrace and turn into results,” he told the athletes.

Mr Jallow also assured the delegation of GNOC’s continued support throughout the competition and expressed confidence in the team’s potential.

He thanked the Government of The Gambia, under the leadership of President Adama Barrow, for fully funding the trip.

Also speaking during the visit was Abass Bah, Director of Youth and Sports, who represented the Minister of Youth and Sports. He urged the athletes to maintain discipline and remain dedicated to their training, reaffirming the government’s commitment to supporting sports development and the Olympic movement.

GNOC Secretary General Yorro Njie echoed the sentiments of appreciation, thanking the government for its financial and logistical support.

The African School Games bring together young athletes from across the continent to compete in various disciplines, fostering sportsmanship and talent development at the grassroots level.
