The Fonì-based club, Sibanor United, has been crowned champions of the West Coast Region Third Division following a win against Kunkujang Friends FC.
The highly anticipated final took place at the Brikama Boxba Mini Stadium on Saturday, marking Sibanor United’s second final appearance in two seasons.
Sibanor United will now represent the West Coast Region in the triangular tournament before qualifying for the Second Division Football next season.
The champions received a trophy and a cash prize of D100,000, while the runners-up went home with D80,000.
Yankuba Darboe, Chairman of the Brikama Area Council, generously donated D300,000 to the West Coast Region Sports Committee as part of his council’s commitment to the development of sports in the region.
Ebrima Camara, head coach of Sibanor United, urged his players to remain focused on the broader goal of qualifying for Second Division football next season. He stressed that their mission remains unfinished as the club aims to compete at a higher level.
