Real De Banjul on Brink of Third Trophy in a Row

By: Kemo Kanyi

Real De Banjul are just one point away from clinching the Gambia Football Federation (GFF) Men’s Division One League trophy for the third consecutive season.

The defending champions thrashed third-place Falcons FC 4-0 at home, further asserting their dominance over top teams in the league.

Real currently sit comfortably at the top of the table, eight points clear of second-placed Fortune FC, with three matches left to play. They will host Fortune FC on Thursday in Basori.

However, their celebrations could be delayed if they fail to secure at least a point in that encounter.

At the other end of the table, the relegation battle remains fierce. Gambia Armed Forces, Gambia Dutch Lions, and Greater Tomorrow are all tied on 28 points and will be fighting to avoid the drop to second division football next season.

Banjul United and Marimoo occupy the bottom two spots with 24 and 22 points, respectively.

The league is held in partnership with Vista Bank Gambia and Baluwo.
