Government to Fight Corruption Without Exception

President Adama Barrow strongly reaffirms his government’s dedication to continue its fight against corruption with no consideration for exception or special treatment to anyone.

Speaking after the Eid Al-Adha (Tobaski) prayer in Banjul, the President also warns against disruption of peace and stability of the country.

President Barrow assures accountability, and transparency will continue to guide his governance approach.

“In our fight against corruption, there will be no exemption or special treatment to anyone, and due process will be followed wherever wrongdoing is evident. He also reaffirms that his government will fulfil its constitutional mandate to protect life and property by maintaining law and order throughout the Gambia.

Barrow calls on all citizens and residents of the Gambia to continue upholding the rule of law and accord the highest respect to the democratic and oversight institutions that safeguard the country’s democrats.

“Our national institutions are the pillars upon which our democratic governance stands, and their independence and effectiveness are essential for national progress. My administration will remain sensitive and positively responsive to your concerns and aspirations.

President Barrow, cautions that any anyone who wants to destabilise the country will face the law as his administration will not entertain such behaviour.  We cannot condone any hidden agenda to undermine the peace and stability that we collectively work so hard to achieve,” he emphasizes.

Calling for renewal of commitment to the values that unite Gambians and as members of the global community, especially the values of compassion, tolerance, and mutual respect.

“Let us strengthen the bonds that connect us across our various backgrounds and beliefs. In this same way, let us work together towards a future of self-property and peace.

He prays for Allah’s infinite mercy on preservation of the peace and stability of the Gambia and to restore peace around the world.
