Barrow Urges Peace and Humanitarian Access for Gaza

In his Eid al-Adha message to the nation and the global Muslim community, President Adama Barrow has called on Israel to cease military operations in Gaza and ensure immediate humanitarian access to the suffering civilian population.

Barrow, speaking as Chairman of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, expressed deep concern over the “grim worsening” of the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza. He highlighted the devastating toll ofthe conflict innocent lives lost, widespread destruction of homes, and severe shortages of essential supplies.

“It is with a heavy heart that I call upon Israel to halt its military operations and ensure unhindered humanitarian aid reaches the civilians in Gaza,” Barrow said. “They are going through unbearable hardship, and we cannot remain silent in the face of such excessive human suffering.”

Barrow’s message also acknowledged the Eid’s spirit of compassion and sacrifice, urging Gambians to continue fostering peace and unity. He warned against any attempts to destabilize the country, affirming his government’s resolve to maintain law and order.
