Abuja University Vice-Chancellor optimistic of Strong Collaboration Between Abuja University & MoPS

The Acting Vice-Chancellor of the University of Abuja, Professor Patricia Manko Lar expressed her optimistic for a stronger collaboration between the University of Abuja and the Ministry of Public Service (MoPS) and both countries in particular.

Ministry of Public Service officials led by the Permanent Secretary (PS) at the said Ministry, Pateh Jah visited several Nigeria Government’s institutions including the office of the acting Vice-Chancellor, Federal University of Abuja to explored deeper institutional partnerships aimed at improving public service delivery across both nations.

“I mean the collaboration that will enable the two institutions to meet the expectation of facilitating reforms, policy formulation, gear towards governance and transparency in both countries,” said acting Vic-Chancellor, Professor Lar.

Acting Vice-Chancellor Lar said: “Your coming will ensure cross fertilization of ideas between the Federal University of Abuja and the Ministry of Public Service of The Gambia in respect to the governance reforms going on in Nigeria.”

She expressed her institution’s appreciation to the role Nigeria’s Bureau of Public Service Reforms (BPSR) is playing in transforming governance which paved the way of standard to be set in Nigeria, adding that for them in Nigeria, they are happy about the new threshold of budget expenditures for the entire country.

That new threshold acting Chancellor, Professor Lar added, gave a lot of hope for Nigerians not to disappoint the leadership of President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Government.

According to Professor Lar, the Government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is trying to help regulate performances in their operations within difference sectors in Government.

Director, Abuja Leadership Center at the Federal University of Abuja, Professor, Philip D. Dahida explained the mandates of his institution which he said, covered the entire Africa continent.

According to Professor Dahida, the centre provide good governance and leadership framework not only to Nigerians but to the entire African continent in general.

He therefore explained that young people within the continent can have the opportunity to be train and become responsible and productive citizens in the continent and West Africa region in particular.
