Dr. Sanyang explained that IGP’s letter sought for information to verify the authenticity of a purported medical paper which was allegedly falsified by the accused, Paulo Djabi.

Sanyang, however, when asked by the lead prosecuting lawyer Mariama Singateh to authenticate if one doctor L Faye who was alleged of being the signatory of Djabi’s medical paper which emanated from Kanifing General Hospital ,Dr. Sanyang responded in the affirmative.

At that juncture, the state lawyer Singateh applied for it to be admitted and marked as an exhibit and it was accordingly done without any objection from the defense lawyer.

According to Dr. Sanyang every practicing doctor in The Gambia is required to renew his/her licence yearly ,stating that after a thorough search in the data of health practitioners ,he found out that no doctor by the name L Faye exists in the state’s national data.
