Njaga Bah, a Gambian in his youth, has admitted guilt for stealing a mobile phone.

He appeared before the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, where he pleaded guilty to a charge of stealing a Techno Cammon 19 mobile phone valued at D12,000.

The phone was the property of one Blessing Michael.

Narrating the facts of the case, prosecution officer Corporal 4624 Alhagie Jallow stated that Bah snatched Michael’s phone from where he placed it and ran away with it but he [Michael] shouted for help. According to Officer Jallow, Bah was apprehended by some people and subsequently taken to the Anti-Crime Unit.

He was meanwhile granted bail in the sum of D5000 to enable him to gain his liberty as he awaits sentencing.

The case was presided over by Magistrate Mben Faal.
