GTb Unable to Explain Whereabouts of Customer’s MoneyBy: Momodou Justice Darboe

The Guaranty Trust Bank (GTb) is still unable to explain to its customer Bubacarr Komma the whereabouts of the monies that he reportedly transferred via GTFlash Cash and Mobil app in September.
According to Mr. Komma, who is currently residing in Germany, he initially transferred D1000 via GTFlash Cash but the intended recipient was still unable to receive it.
“I later transferred D10,000 via Mobil App. However, the intended recipient could not access the money as we speak,” Mr. Komma explained to The Voice yesterday.
He said he reported the matter to GTb’s Banjul branch and he was referred to a certain Christopher at Brusubi, who was said to be his account manager.
“I contacted Christopher and he promised to do something about it. However, he could not give me any cogent explanation about what happened to the money. He later started dodging my calls and up to today, I could not establish the whereabouts of the money,” the apparently disappointed Komma explained to The Voice.
The GTb’s communications boss Mr.Doudou Bojang told this reporter that he could not talk to him about Komma’saccount due to the bank’s contract with him.
“This is a private bank account and it would not be ideal to talk to a third party about it,” he politely told this medium.
He then provided his email to be shared with Komma so he could get in touch with the bank.
Meanwhile, Mr. Komma said he had despaired in the bank for the recovery of his money.
“I wanted to overlook everything but I think the bank should be made accountable to its customers. It’s disheartening that nobody at the bank is now interested in talking to me about the money,” he lamented.
